Large visible signs

Placing an arrow on the sign is more important then the address.

Use contrasting colors. don't use yellow on white - can't see it. Neon orange or yellow sign with black text -WINNER!

Even a white sign black text works.

Make the lettering large enough to see it from five to six car lengths away from the sign. If they can't read it they won't come.

If your house is more then 2 blocks from the corner where the sign is at, place additional signs directing them to the sale.

Place a sign on each corner they would need to turn at.

Pricing - Don't price your items by what you paid for it originaly. It's now being bought from your driveway - no warranty - no returns - price the items to sell.

Garage sale pricing rule of thumb -- an item should not be priced more then one third of the original purchase price and in most cases this is still too high.

Paper back books .25 - .50 cents

Jeans $2 or less

Coats $5 or less
